| The County Clerk (4 Year Term) is the Chief
Election Authority administering elections throughout Will County.
The County Clerk's Office administers
all Federal, State, and County elections and is responsible
for preparing the ballots, training election judges, securing polling
places, and all other election related duties including Candidate
Services such as Campaign Disclosure Material, Statements of
Economic Interest, and Petitions of Nomination of Elections.
The Office also provides many other major functions
including:
- Keeper of
County Records and the Clerk of
the County Board. All proceedings of the County board are
compiled and kept on permanent file in the County Clerk's office.

- Voter Registration.
The County Clerk's Office processes all voter registration
records. There are
currently 452 precincts in Will County and over
350,000
registered
voters.
- Tax Extension. The
County Clerk's Office accepts the filing of the annual
budgets, levies, financial reports, and boundary changes of
all taxing bodies and calculates the tax rates and extensions for
each unit of government. The Forfeiture/Tax Sale Redemption area of
the office collects payments for delinquent taxes.
- Vital Records. The
County Clerk's Office is the depository for vital records including
birth, death, and marriage records.
- Issuing Marriage Licenses.
The County Clerk's Office issues licenses for marriages that occur
in Will County.
- In addition, the clerk's office is
responsible for many other services including Accounts Payable,
Filing of Notary Public Commissions, and Assumed Business Name
Certificates.
